Introduces students to the scientific discipline of psychology—the systematic study of behavior and experience. Topics may include, but are not limited to: how the brain and nervous system function; how we sense and perceive information; how we learn, think, and remember; factors that make us distinct individuals; psychological disorders and their treatment; development across the lifespan; how we interact with one another, our social surroundings, and our world; and the theoretical perspectives and methods that psychologists use to further our understanding of these topics. Students may not receive credit for both AP psychology and PSYC 101.
